“Wheat, Gold and Wine: A Food and Wine Event in Caltagirone”

14 December:08:00 - 17:00

The Hoffmann Museum of Caltagirone will host, on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 December 2025, the event “Trame di Grano, ‘Oro’ and Wine”, a cultural and food-and-wine festival in Sicily dedicated to the pillars of the Mediterranean diet: wheat, extra virgin olive oil, and wine.

Two days devoted to food as culture, well-being, and the promotion of Sicilian agri-food excellence, featuring show cooking, themed talks, tastings, music, and traditional storytelling, set within one of the most representative cultural venues of Caltagirone, a UNESCO World Heritage city.

An event celebrating culture, taste, and the Mediterranean diet

“Trame di Grano, ‘Oro’ and Wine” was created with the aim of telling the story of the deep connection between agriculture, tradition, and local identity, promoting the Mediterranean diet as a model of healthy and sustainable nutrition.

The program includes:

  • Show cooking with chef Mario Traina

  • A talk entitled “Food, Culture, and Well-being” focusing on the importance of the Mediterranean diet

  • Tastings of artisanal pasta and extra virgin olive oils

  • A dedicated journey through “The Art of Wine”

  • Live music, fashion, and traditional storytellers, for a truly multisensory experience

Leading the gastronomic and digital storytelling will be Luisa Marabita, food influencer, and Francesca Giarratana, food creator, who will present a contemporary narrative of food and its traditions.

Music, stories, and Sicilian tradition

The cultural dimension of the event will be enriched by Claudio and Rossella Romano with “N’trizzi e Cunti”, a journey through Sicilian oral memory, and by the musical atmospheres of Swing & Dintorni, transforming the Hoffmann Museum into a vibrant space for gathering and sharing.

Organization and institutions

The event is organized by Associazione Conadomini ETS, in collaboration with the Hoffmann Museum, Spazio Hoffmann – Ristorazione, the Pro Loco of Caltagirone, and under the supervision of Titti Metrico.

The festival is funded by the Department of Agriculture of the Sicilian Regional Government and takes place with the free patronage of the Municipality of Caltagirone, confirming the institutions’ commitment to promoting the cultural and agri-food heritage of the territory.
